Maryellen Pachler – Stamford, Connecticut USA
Principal, Promotions
Maryellen has been promoting FLIPSIDE since its inception in 2001 in conjunction with its original founders, Dave Russell and Marvin Harris. Her love for house music, which “formally” began in Boston in 1984, was a natural progression from the Blues, Baptist choir music and Disco that she was exposed to while growing up.
While she has occasionally held a glow stick, Maryellen prefers deep, vocal house music. Her favorite part of being a promoter is dancing and socializing with the diverse and dynamic group of FLIPSIDE attendees.
Maryellen received a BS from Boston University and her Nursing, Master’s and Post-Master’s degrees from Yale University. She is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner in Pediatric Primary Care and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
While at the Yale Child Study Center, she conducted clinical research trials in the pharmacological and cognitive behavioral treatment of anxiety, Tourette Syndrome and Autism. Currently, she is in private practice in Westport, Connecticut. Her personal and professional goal is to improve mental health care access to all children.
Born in Lincoln, Nebraska and raised in Massachusetts since age 10, Maryellen has been a Connecticut resident since 1989.
